Start-up Business of the Year

Start-up Business of the Year
New and innovative SME with High Performance Growth

This award is open for businesses which have been trading for fewer than two years and have demonstrated a high level of entrepreneurship and vision to establish themselves in their marketplace.

Criteria Questions
• How was your start up achieved – include a description of your
product/service and the USP
• Major achievements to date, including investment in your workforce
• Future aspirations

Family Business of the Year

Family Business of the Year
World class family-owned UK companies

This award is for businesses that have kept it in the family. You’re a family run and owned business where more than one family member is involved in the operation and management of the business.

Criteria Questions
• Demonstrate that the family have had significant influence on the   business success
• Significant staff engagement and development
• Future aspirations

Small Business of the Year

Small Business of the Year
A business operation run by less than 10 employees

Open to organisations with 10 or less staff, including the business owner, and have delivered consistent growth through great leadership, understanding their customers and engaging employers.

• An established market position
• Current business performance
• Future aspirations

Medium Business of the Year

Medium Business of the Year
A business operation run by less than 49 employees

This award is open to any established business employing 11 – 49 employees and has been trading for more than two years. The company should be able to demonstrate all-round strength and figures demonstrating growth in sales and profitability.

• An established market position
• Turnover of 2 million in the last financial year
• Vision for the next 3-5 years

Large Business of the Year

Large Business of the Year
A business operation run by more than 49 employees

This award is open to any business that employs more than 50 staff or has an annual turnover of more than £5 million. The company should be able to demonstrate outstanding organisation and strong growth.

Criteria Questions
•Turnover of 5 million in the last financial year
• Vision for the next 3-5 years
• Proven success and achievement during the past 12 months

Online Business of the Year

Online Business of the Year
Achieving growth with digital innovation

Open to any organisation operating online, this award recognises those best optimising all aspects of technology and digital innovation to achieve growth and strong financial performance through exceptional customer experience

Criteria Questions
• How technology has improved the businesses processes and efficiency
• Evidence of achieving positive sales, improved market share and/or higher    profits.

Hospitality Business of the Year

Hospitality Business of the Year
Setting a benchmark in halal dining

This award is open to restaurants, cafe, take aways, catering suppliers and hotels that are either independent, part of a franchise or chain and have been operating successfully for the last 2 years.

Hajj and Umrah Business of the Year

Hajj and Umrah Business of the Year
Adding value to customers travel package

The Hajj and Umrah Award provides recognition to licensed Hajj & Umrah Tour operators within the community. Awards are open to all small and big tour operators.

Travel and Tourism Business of the Year

Travel and Tourism Business of the Year Demonstrating creative and commercial success This award welcome entries from all tourism businesses and tour operators- includes agents, suppliers and destination operators. Individual Awards

Business Person of the Year

Business Person of the Year
Outstanding Entrepreneur

This award will recognise an individual who has been instrumental in the overall success of a business over the last two years, and demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit, strategic business thinking and is regarded as a leader.

Young Rising Star of the Year – Under 30

Young Rising Star of the Year
A young person making a major impact in their organisation

This category celebrates the entrepreneur aged 30 or under who has demonstrated the most impressive credentials in starting or growing a business or organisation.

• A summary of professional achievements
• Description of their current business success
• Display any other special attributes that make them shine out!

Lifetime Achievement in Business of the Year

This award recognises a business person whose culture and commercial principles are targeted at bringing a greater good and solving social challenges for the British Muslim communities.

There is no entry form for the Lifetime Achievement Award as this will be decided upon at the discretion of the judges. However, if you would like to submit a name for consideration please email events@islamchannel.tv

Nominated Awards

Chairman Award of the Year

The recipient of this award will be selected by the chairman of Islam Channel, Mohamed Ali Harrath.

There is no entry form or nomination for the Chairman Award of the year.
